1.Pre-course preparation and briefing. During this phase a close working relationship is formed with the client to agree the outcomes required from the programme. All individuals wherever possible are involved to ensure that the course is not only tailored to the organisations needs, but to the individual delegates. The thorough formation of this first part of the business relationship is crucial, as it ensures the ownership of the programme lies with yourselves. Pre-course briefing is generally run in-house and involves meeting the participants prior to a residential course, it is viewed as the commencement of the programme. It is here where the course method is explained, aims and objectives set, and questions answered. This briefing can also be carried out virtually as a cost effective and thorough preparation medium. 2. Residential course. Usually run from one of our comfortable venues, or at a location or area to suit yourselves. The length can vary from a weekend to a week depending on the exact needs of the individuals and company. During the days of the course, delegates will be given precisely designed outdoor based tasks which vary in complexity and length. Learning will be carefully facilitated by our experienced tutors not only at the end of each task, but also 'on the job'. This is important as it enables individuals to deal with and learn from situations as they naturally occur and when the moment is 'hot'. During outdoor tasks tutors often take the role of head office or a client to introduce elements of change in order to create apropriate challenges to the group. 3. Post course support. Follow-up is generally run in-house and is a review which enables change to be smoothly implemented. It is here that the improvements course delegates wish to make can be supported within the culture they return to. Many training organisations allow delegates to return to work with expectations of instant change in all areas. Pro-Active's tutors are highly skilled in ensuring that delegates are sensitively guided in setting action plans which are appropriate and realistic within the organisational culture. |
